Temporarily suspending all in-house volunteer programs
We are monitoring the fast-changing facts and information regarding COVID-19 with great concern. We have been in close contact with our RMHC Global Offices, the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control, and our partners at the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital to ensure a proactive and unified response.
As you know, we house many immune-suppressed patients and families in communal living environments. To reduce the possibility of infection, we are temporarily suspending all in-house volunteer programs and closing our House to volunteers and visitors.
During this time, we will continue housing children and families who require specialized medical care far from home. However, this temporary disruption in programming will leave our guests without many of the resources that they have come to count on, including daily meals through our Meals that Heal program. This means our volunteers who help make it possible for us to provide 3 meals a day, for our 32 families, will no longer be able to do so.
We have heard from some of our supporters that they want to continue supporting the House during this time of great need and so we are sharing three non-contact ways to do so:
THREE WAYS YOU CAN HELP
Sponsor a meal
$200 will ensure we continue to have three meals a day for our 32 families while the Meals that Heal program is on hold. This is by far our greatest need and we deeply appreciate your support.
Make a donation
This allows us the flexibility to support our families in the ways they need it most.
Shop from our Amazon wish list and help us stock our House with key items for our families.
We will continue to evaluate the impact of the entire situation on our organization as the health and safety of our Families, Employees, and Volunteers is our top priority.
We appreciate your support and are grateful for your understanding during this complex and evolving worldwide change.
